“Starting Digital Marketing with AI: My Honest Review of 5 Tools (2025)”

I’m just starting out in digital marketing, and this week I tried 5 AI tools that a lot of marketers are talking about in 2025.

This blog post is for beginners like me, especially those from Nepal who are curious about AI and digital marketing tools but don’t know where to start.

Let’s break it down together — are these tools really beginner-friendly? Are they worth your time?


🛠️ TOOL 1: ChatGPT

What it does:
ChatGPT is known for writing social media captions, email copy, blog posts, and even full marketing campaigns.

What I tested:
I asked it to write a social media post for a skincare brand. It gave me a clean result in just a few seconds!

✅ Pros: Very easy to use. Great for quick ideas.
⚠️ Cons: If you don’t guide it well, it can sound a bit generic or robotic.

Would I use it again as a beginner? Absolutely yes.

✏️ It helped me hugely by giving some business plans for Nepal under 30 seconds with detail planning.


🛠️ TOOL 2: Canva Magic Write

What it does:
This tool is built inside Canva Docs. It helps write ad copy, social media headlines, and blog intros.

My experience:
I used it to write a Facebook ad. It gave me 3 strong options in under 30 seconds.

✅ Pros: Super convenient if you already use Canva for designs.
⚠️ Cons: Some features are limited unless you have Canva Pro.

Final thought: If you like visuals and writing, this is a great mix.

✏️ It gave me a blog sample under 50 seconds with unique writing of a title i needed and it was also a huge help for social media posts.


🛠️ TOOL 3: Jasper AI

What it does:
Jasper is an AI writing tool that many marketers use for more advanced content like blogs, sales pages, and emails.

My test:
I asked it to write a product description and a blog intro. It felt more “professional” than ChatGPT, but a bit overwhelming for a beginner.

✅ Pros: Templates are helpful for structured writing.
⚠️ Cons: It’s not free, and there’s a learning curve.

Beginner tip: Start slow and use templates if you’re feeling stuck.

🛠️ TOOL 4: Surfer SEO

What it does:
Surfer SEO helps you write content that’s optimized for Google search. Perfect if you want your blog to rank but don’t fully understand SEO.

My experiment:
I copied a blog draft into Surfer. It gave me a content score, keyword suggestions, and SEO-friendly headings.

✅ Pros: It tells you exactly what to improve.
⚠️ Cons: Some features might feel advanced for total beginners.

Would I keep using it? Yes — especially as I learn more about SEO step by step.

✏️ Surfer SEO is a paid program that does not provide any free use for now.


🛠️ TOOL 5: Pictory AI

What it does:
Pictory turns written content (like blog posts or scripts) into short videos — ideal for social media.

What I tried:
I added a paragraph into Pictory, and it turned it into a clean video with music and visuals in minutes.

✅ Pros: Super beginner-friendly for making videos. No editing experience needed.
⚠️ Cons: You might want to adjust visuals and branding to match your style.

Fun fact: I made the YouTube video in this post using Pictory!

So those are the 5 tools I tested this week as a digital marketing beginner. It’s been a learning experience, and I’m slowly getting more confident.
